FAO: Independent Planning Inspector
This is a written representation from the residents of Gonerby Hill Foot and surrounding area regarding the proposed allocation of a greenfield site for 628 new houses known as "SKPR-57 Land off Belton Lane".
We believe the site is unsuitable to be considered for housing and request that South Kesteven District Council listen to our objections and remove this site from the local plan. With so much green space disappearing in north Grantham we will find ourselves with almost no green space available for recreation, exercise and our mental health.
The plan is fundamentally unsound as there has been insufficient community consultation, and the authority has failed to properly consider its environmental, social and economic effects.
It will undoubtedly have a permanent and detrimental impact on the area?s landscape, agriculture, infrastructure, highways, heritage and biodiversity. When considering Grantham?s future growth the social, environmental and economic wellbeing of the town and its residents must be paramount. We believe that the devastating impact of this proposal makes it unsound and contrary to the council?s community strategy.
